My Services

I like to give my client information and advise on how to take care of their dreadlocks. I like to share as much information as possible to enable the client to maintain and develop their own dreadlocks if they choose to.

Creation

I believe that all you need to make dreadlocks is hair. I make dreads using my hands and a crochet hook. I section the hair and mat it using my hands, then use a crotchet hook to pull all the hair together, forming a tight, solid structure.This method makes good, strong, permanent dreadlocks.

The more dry and damaged the hair the quicker & easier it is to dreadlock! I recommend washing the hair the day before with a cheap shampoo, with no conditioner.

How long it will take depends on the length/thickness of the hair. On average a full head of dreads (shoulder length hair) takes around 8 hours. If the hair is particularly long or thick, it may take more like 10-12. In these cases I like to make them over two or more sessions.

Maintenance/Repair

As well as creating i do maintenance and repair work. Again using only my hands and a crochet hook. I use my hands to tighten the roots and a crochet hook to weave in any loose hairs.

How long it takes depends on how much work needs to be done. On average to fix up a full head takes me between 2-5 hours.

Its great to personalize dreadlocks. I like to experiment with hair dye, wrapping the dreads with silks and ribbons, threading on beads and tying in feathers.
